Phases & Goals

The startup of our community will unfold through four distinct phases, each contributing to the foundation and development of the community. We expect folks will come in and out at different phases. If one phase isn’t right for you, circle back to us when it feels right.

  • Phase 1

In Phase 1, the founders take the initiative to assess their individual and collective skills, identifying both strengths and gaps. This self-reflection is crucial as it enables them to unify around a shared vision. Motivated individuals begin to organize a core group, setting the stage for collaborative efforts toward establishing the community.

  • Phase 2

In Phase 2, the core group takes the lead. Regular meetings become the forum for addressing essential decisions regarding the community's culture, decision-making processes, membership criteria, land search parameters, and overall design. Financial considerations and labor distribution are also crucial topics of discussion, ensuring that all members are aligned and committed to the community’s goals.

  • Phase 3

Phase 3 shifts the focus to action, necessitating the involvement of all members, often through subcommittees. This phase is characterized by the formation of legal structures, securing necessary financing, acquiring land, and overseeing the construction of homes. The collaborative energy of the group is essential as they work together to bring their vision into tangible reality.

  • Phase 4

In Phase 4, the community transitions into its new reality. All members engage in ways that align with their capabilities and agreements. This phase is marked by the initiation of communal activities such as gardening, business ventures, and the creation of shared spaces like playgrounds. As members navigate the challenges of this new community life, they work together to troubleshoot issues and foster a supportive environment.
